Dangling Carrots
I've been in the motor trade a long time and I'm used to people dangling carrots. These days though I'm more than wise to the various ways of tying one to a piece of string and dangling it in front of my face.
Offering me work only to take it elsewhere isn't funny. Doing it more than once is even less funny. Getting reminded of it when you're stranded and I'm your last hope isn't funny although I'm going to quite enjoy putting the phone down on you.
On the same note, complaining to me that I haven't turned up to do the little, insignificant job that I told you I'd do when I had time when I know very well that you take your servicing and repair work elsewhere isn't going to make me turn up any faster.
Play fair and so will I.
