St Andrews Dock, Hull

>> Listen to this Article or Add to Podcast
Debbie and I had half an hour spare this afternoon so we parked the car at The Junction and went for a walk along the path at the side of the River Humber towards Albert Dock. Although St Andrew's Dock hasn't been used in anger since the mid 1970's there was still plenty to see. It was a shame we didn't have the camera with us but I did have my mobile.

The entrance to St Andrew's Dock from the dock gates.

Lord Line building and Marrs.

The lock gates.

The Lost Fishermans' Memorial.

Humber Chambers I think. I must go back and check on the name unless somebody can comment this post with it and save me the job!

"Insurance Buildings". Does anybody know what company owned these offices and what relationship 1932 has above 2 of the windows with 1888 above one of the others?

St Andrews Dock and Albert Dock are on our hit list for a return visit, with the camera this time. The photos will be posted on the Local History Gallery as soon as I have them.
