Green Flag Ready to Rescue Britain's Worst Celebrity Drivers

A leading motoring assistance expert has been called in to support a new live television show for Five. Green Flag Motoring Assistance will provide breakdown recovery services for Britain's Worst Celebrity Driver, a reality TV programme that follows six celebrities as they make their way from Lands End to John O'Groats in a variety of vehicles.
Celebrities up for the challenge include actor Brian Blessed, Joel Ross from Radio One duo JK and Joel, ex-Hear'Say star Suzanne Shaw and Blue Peter veteran John Noakes. The celebrities, nominated by their friends and relatives for their dreadful driving abilities, will face daily pit-stop challenges, to test their skills as they negotiate their way from one place to the next. The vehicles for the challenge range from a humble Reliant Robin to a 1936 SS Jaguar.
Green Flag spokesman Nigel Charlesworth said: "With a wide variety of vehicles and a group of celebrities who willingly admit their driving skills are far from perfect, anything could happen, so we are pleased that Green Flag will be ready to support them throughout the challenge should any of them suffer a breakdown or minor bump."
The new prime-time series, hosted by motoring expert Quentin Willson and Jenni Falconer, begins on Sunday September 11 at 8pm and will be broadcast four evenings a week until September 25. In a live show broadcast from a different city each night, viewers will vote for the worst driver and the one with the least votes will leave the show at that night's location with a cash prize for their chosen charity.
The show is being produced for Five by independent television production company, Mentorn. Head of factual entertainment at Mentorn, Rob Carey said, "This is the first reality show to take the contestants out of a controlled environment and onto the roads of Britain where they will interact with the British public."
Green Flag Motoring Assistance has provides roadside rescue and recovery to almost 5m customers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
